GFA is
dedicated to helping rescues and sanctuaries save the lives of abandoned, abused and neglected
animals.
With the help of some very compassionate people GFA has distributed over
300,000 pounds of food within the last two years.
Our deepest gratitude to our friends at PETCO, Purina (Rally To Rescue), HALO,
Freekibble.com, JAKKS Pet Foods, and to all the MANY who participated to ensure
rescues have the highest quality food for the animals in their care in the most
difficult of economic times..

HORRIFIC STORIES OF ANIMALS IN NEED
This kitten survived unspeakable brutality of teenage boys. She and
her siblings left in a cardboard box on a quiet country road and purposely
run over. Before they could make a second pass, a witness intervened.
In the box was one kitten still alive. Her siblings were not so lucky.
Please report any animal abuse to your local authorities and delivery the
message that this behavior will not be tolerated. Be an animal guardian.

It was a warm day, temperatures in the 60's, uncommon for Michigan this time of year.
So why were these puppies, only days old, surrendered in a near frozen state? It is
believed that the owner tried freezing them to death.
There were 6 in the litter. One was dead on arrival, another passed away a couple of
days later. The four remaining are thriving under the close supervision of Heroes For
Homeless Animals, a GFA affiliate rescue.
In this photo they snuggle together under a warming blanket just after their latest
bottle feeding... surrounded by love and care.

Adorable Newborn Kittens Find Sanctuary
On a very cold evening, little cries broke the silence of the night. They were
huddled together, shivering. With the help of AARM, they are now together with
mom, warm, dry and well fed, waiting to find their new forever homes.
Everyday more animals are found abandoned. Because of the heroic efforts of GFA
Affiliate Rescues, these abandoned animals can find sanctuary, and most importantly,
hope.
